Change your unfair ways. Get ready to face the climate Change

“Climate change is happening – the world is already 1.1°C warmer than it was at the onset of the industrial revolution, and it is already having a significant impact on the world, and on people’s lives. And if current trends persist, then global temperatures can be expected to rise by 3.4 to 3.9°C this century, which would bring wide-ranging and destructive climate impacts.” That’s the blatant warning from the international community ahead of the 2019 UN Climate Change Conference, known as COP25.

Kerala has felt the cold hands due to irregularities and unusual weather experiences. The flood experiences in the 2018 and 2019 had alarmed the need for an alternative method of construction and living in the State. Various reports opine that deforestation and change in land use patterns are the reasons for the devastating floods, which are now becoming an annual affair. We believe that the situation needs to be reviewed with our waste management practices too. The unfair practices of dumping the waste into water bodies have in a way worsened the situation by obstructing the easy water route to sea. The use and reuse strategy shall be strictly followed by every citizen as a responsibility to mankind. Kerala Government, have decided to ban the manufacturing, sale and storage of single-use plastic products from January 1, 2020. The bold step by the Government shall be strengthened by owning up of the strategy by the general public.

Let us join hands to save mankind!
