Birds – Pallavi Banerjee, Kolkata

From dawn to dusk, the wondrous creation of God,
races across the warm sky, fluttering the wings of ecstasy.
As they fly over the green woods and dale,
the entire atmosphere echoes their merry notes.
At the end of the day,
when the sun descends in the western sky,
and the daylight begins to dwindle,
the birds bid farewell to the groves and rippling streams.
They return to their bower,
where the glow worms await to welcome them.
When the murmuring sound of the birds fade away,
and silence pervades the atmosphere,
the silvery moonbeams lull them to a fascinating dream.
