Che – Premji

Premji

Smile fire,
Soul storm,
The most
Handsome man
Lived on earth!

Lived for,
Sacrificed self
For us…
The have-nots…

But,
They label him
On new beverages…
New cigars…
Caps and clothes
He is a brand…

Sad,
A great warrior,
Getting killed
By the claws of
A great vulture
Named Globalization…
Real cultural
Seduction!

  1. Good one Premji….Sad that they are making the max out of che….No wonder why the sanctity of the Red is fading these days or may be for ages….

  2. Now i can see clearly why it is said “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” ! It’s the writer’s admiration for Che-guevara that allows him to see the most handsome man ever in the revolutionary leader. I repeatedly look at his photographs and cant agree to that. The writer also sees globalization as a vulture and finds the leader’s image in beer bottles, a “sacrilege”. But there is no mention of many organizations/groups who have made a brand of Che much earlier. I presume this is what we call “progressive” literature !
