Mirage – Manisha Mishra

Poets, philosophers, artists and thinkers
Have never dampened their quest to decipher life
It is what that seems to the onlooker
A reflection, a shadow, a painting, a swan song
Nothing more or nothing less.

Life is simply not a hallucination
It is an optical illusion
That seems to deceive more and more
As one ripens with wisdom.
Like a mirage, life can be inferior or superior
Nothing more or nothing less.

The soul might reflect seven colours
The mind might refract the turmoil within
The heart might undergo a total internal reflection
But even then life will seem like a ‘Fata Morgana’
Nothing more or nothing less.
